Stella Donnelly is pleased to announce details of a UK/European
tour for Spring 2019. Details of a debut album will be announced soon.
The Australian musician was introduced to British audiences at the tail end of 2017 with the evocative and hard-hitting, “Boys Will Be Boys”. It was the beguiling voice of a whip-smart new artist plaintively confronting the man who had raped her friend and tackling the resulting victim-blaming that ensued. Stella’s words were wrapped within a lullaby to quite devastating effect.
Her endearing and relatable way of writing is her lens to the world in which we live, a glimpse into what it’s like to be a millennial woman in the age of Trump, Tinder and third wave
feminism. Following a sold out Omeara show last month, Donnelly announces her return to the UK and Europe for a full band headline tour in 2019. The tour begins on April 11 in Berlin and concludes on the 7th May at London’s Scala, Stella’s biggest show to date.
Next year will also see the release of Donnelly’s debut full-length album on Secretly Canadian (details to follow). The album follows her acclaimed ‘Thrush Metal’ EP, released earlier this year.
It’s refreshing to find such a gifted young musician inviting the conversation at a time where conversation is so crucial.
